This years Desert Series ended with the Baja 1000 and the next race will be at 14.-16. January 2011 with 17th SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge in Laughlin, Nevada. So for January 2011 the off-road race fans have a full program: daily follow up on the Dakar Rally running from January 1st to January 16th with an partially changed course in Argentina and Chile followed right away with the Laughlin Desert Challenge.

The father son #21 Trophy-Truck team of Gus Vildosola Jr. and Gus Vildosola Sr. dominated the 43rd SCORE Baja 1000 in 19 hours and four seconds, claiming the overall vehicle title. Here are the Baja 1000 results following complete data tracking review. 292 starters of the Baja Mil 2010 and of them 197 finished in La Paz (67.5 Percent). Team Vildosola #21 Red Bull Trophy Truck victorious
Tavo and Gus Vildolsola are the first Mexican National team to claim the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 victory in it’s 43rd edition!! Averaging 55.8 mp/h in their #21 Red Bull Trophy Truck they covered the distance of 1061 miles from Ensenada to La Paz in 19:00:04 hrs. With that Vildolsola Racing also beat the motorcycle overall time of the winning 1x Honda. Robby Gordon, in his first outing with new colors – he’s now sponsored by his own, new energy drink “Speed Energy” finished in second place. Quick a few tidbits as we collected them before hitting over to the finish-line here in La Paz – Fidepaz. As of now #21 Vildosola RedBull Trophy Truck leads #1 Robby Gordon Speed Energy by 14 physical minutes. That’s not only a battle for the Baja 1000 victory but also a fight between energy-drinks
#8 Norman follows 3 minutes behind Gordon. #21 Tavo Vildosola Jr. running with broken header/super exhaust leak sound. Still not slowing him down. Rob MacCachren awaits the #20 Mastercraft – Jimco Trophy Truck driven by Will Staats in Loreto. They are running top 10 right now. Mark Post having troubles in the #3 Riviera Trophy Truck Mark reporting throttle issues or that he may have lost a cylinder just before RM 775. he is about an hour back from the leader and will be pulling in to pit and hopefully fix the cylinder issue. Gary Weyhrich in the new Jimco TT through RM 775 followed by BJ “Ballistic” Baldwin.
Desertstorm at Baja 1000 with Oshkosh
