All German X6 Trophy Truck debut at Baja 1000
For months now the offroad scene has eagerly awaited the premiere of the AGM-Jimco X6 SCORE Trophy Truck. Now it’s all go: In late September the new desert monster will be presented in Germany, with which rally ace Armin Schwarz and the All German Motorsports team tackle the US SCORE Championship. For August, All German Motorsports plan comparison tests with the new vehicle, which stands out from other Trophy Trucks through its low weight and substantially better aerodynamics. In September, the AGM-Jimco X6 SCORE Trophy Truck will celebrate its public launch in Germany. As part of the presentation, new partners will be announced. “Our first race with the AGM-Jimco Trophy Truck will be in November at the BAJA 1000,” says Schwarz. Read the rest of this entry »
Baja 500 highlights 2011
Starting first and never looking back, Las Vegas’ Bryce Menzies won his second SCORE race of the year Saturday earning the overall 4-wheel vehicle and SCORE Trophy-Truck victory in the 43rd annual Tecate SCORE Baja 500. Menzies blasted his way over 452.84 miles of Mexico’s blistering Baja California desert in the No. 70 Menzies Motorsports Ford F-150 in a winning time of nine hours, four minutes, 52 seconds, averaging 49.87 miles per hour. Winning the unlimited Class 1 and finishing seventh overall among 4-wheel vehicles was the talented team of Steven Eugenio, Alpine, Calif./Adam Pfankuch, Oceanside, Calif., in their debut race in a new Chevy-powered Jimco open-wheel desert race car. SCORE Desert Series point standings
SCORE Desert Series points standing after round 2 (San Felipe 250) of five races for the 2011 SCORE Desert Series championship is close as veteran SCORE Trophy-Truck driver Jesse Jones and young gun unlimited Class 1 racer Justin Davis lead their respective classes and are tied at the top of SCORE point leader board. Colton Udall is leading the motorcycles points. Other leaders include Luke McMillin, Clyde Stacy, Justin Matney, Heidi Steele, Dan Chamlee, Elias Hanna, Perry McNeil, Jessica McMillin, Brandon Brown, Wes Bevly III & Wes Bevly IV. Desert Series points are based on starting, finishing, placement and number of official starters within each class. Jesse Jones, 45, of Litchfield Park, Ariz., and Justin Davis, 17 of Chino Hills, Calif., not only lead their respective classes following Round 2 of the Desert Series, they are tied for the SCORE Overall point lead with 139 point each. Desert racers Nick Vanderwey of Arizona and Chad Thornton of New Mexico received the pole positions for four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles in the drawing for starting positions. Round 2 of the 2011 SCORE Desert Series will be held 10.-13. March 2011 in Mexico’s picturesque fishing village of San Felipe, located 120 miles south of the U.S. border on the East side of the Baja California peninsula along the azure waters of the tranquil Sea of Cortez.
