For months now the offroad scene has eagerly awaited the premiere of the AGM-Jimco X6 SCORE Trophy Truck. Now it’s all go: In late September the new desert monster will be presented in Germany, with which rally ace Armin Schwarz and the All German Motorsports team tackle the US SCORE Championship. For August, All German Motorsports plan comparison tests with the new vehicle, which stands out from other Trophy Trucks through its low weight and substantially better aerodynamics. In September, the AGM-Jimco X6 SCORE Trophy Truck will celebrate its public launch in Germany. As part of the presentation, new partners will be announced. “Our first race with the AGM-Jimco Trophy Truck will be in November at the BAJA 1000,” says Schwarz. Read the rest of this entry »

SCORE Announces New September Race Will Be Tecate SCORE San Felipe Challenge Of Champions. Insurance issues cause SCORE to move Primm race South of the Border. Tecate SCORE San Felipe Challenge of Champions desert race to be held in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico. SCORE International confirmed today that the next race of five-race 2011 SCORE Desert Series will be the new Tecate SCORE San Felipe Challenge of Champions to be held September 9-11 in San Felipe, Baja, California, Mexico. The race replaces the Primm 300 race that was cancelled this year because of insurmountable insurance issues.

The new race, for 17 Pro and 2 Sportsman classes for cars and trucks, will run over the same course that was recently used for this year’s MasterCraft Safety Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250 in March of approximately 250 miles. Read the rest of this entry »

Starting first and never looking back, Las Vegas’ Bryce Menzies won his second SCORE race of the year Saturday earning the overall 4-wheel vehicle and SCORE Trophy-Truck victory in the 43rd annual Tecate SCORE Baja 500. Menzies blasted his way over 452.84 miles of Mexico’s blistering Baja California desert in the No. 70 Menzies Motorsports Ford F-150 in a winning time of nine hours, four minutes, 52 seconds, averaging 49.87 miles per hour. Winning the unlimited Class 1 and finishing seventh overall among 4-wheel vehicles was the talented team of Steven Eugenio, Alpine, Calif./Adam Pfankuch, Oceanside, Calif., in their debut race in a new Chevy-powered Jimco open-wheel desert race car. SCORE Desert Series points standing after round 2 (San Felipe 250) of five races for the 2011 SCORE Desert Series championship is close as veteran SCORE Trophy-Truck driver Jesse Jones and young gun unlimited Class 1 racer Justin Davis lead their respective classes and are tied at the top of SCORE point leader board. Colton Udall is leading the motorcycles points. Other leaders include Luke McMillin, Clyde Stacy, Justin Matney, Heidi Steele, Dan Chamlee, Elias Hanna, Perry McNeil, Jessica McMillin, Brandon Brown, Wes Bevly III & Wes Bevly IV. Desert Series points are based on starting, finishing, placement and number of official starters within each class. Breaking off-road news!! Danica Patrick and Cameron Diaz to team up for this year SCORE Baja 500 and Baja 1000 racing an all new Dodge – Fiat V10 Trophy Truck. A secretly build up all female trophy truck team! As team principal and financial backer Oprah Winfrey announced to Puro Off-Road exclusive will Roseanne Barr fill the crew chief position. Public relations are overseen by Monica Lewis as press officer of the new “SQD-2-Pi” Trophy Truck Team. Principal team sponsor is “Kotex U” and “Oil of Olay” lubricants and Alize beverage. With this brand-new trophy truck factory support returns to the off-road sport.

Other noticeable developments at “SQD 2 Pi” – it is not a 100% female team only. During a scouting session down to Baja a destination management team member from Sprinter Rentals San Diego overheard a conversation that a former MX’er nick-named “Dogger” is responsible for the “chill-out” times and to calm situations before the race while James “Bubba” Steward may also join the team bringing in his unique road clearance capabilities as chase truck driver. It is not verified yet if red and blue lights are allowed in Mexico.
