As stated in the opening here to be in the running for a few cold Pacificos when you arrive in La Paz we want your reason why you participate at the Baja 1000 race. We will post all entrants here on this page – update all 36 hours – and 10 days before the Baja peninsula-run 1000 will start we add a polling feature.
Who ever get’s selected by the website visitors as to have the best reason will get a ice-cold “Cubeca” full Pacificos from us at arrival in La Paz.
Click he link to mail your entrance (no need to write a novel, a few lines would do) to and find it posted below. Let us know if you want your name included.
1.) I buy the beer so I dont need to win it. My reason to put the Baja 1000 above all other motor-sport and off-road races is written down with a few words. No matter what class one race in, no matter what budget – it requires determination!! Everybody that makes it in that race to the finish and see’s the checkered flag is a winner! To me the Baja 1000 peninsula-run is the equivalent to the ironman triathlon.it must been a “un-real” thing to do 43 years ago.
2.) We decided to do it because none of us have anything better to do that weekend, otherwise and to try and win that free beer in La Paz to. – Bryan Lyttle, Co-Pilot/Navigator AGM Class 1 from Escondido
3.) I’m a fan and go all the SCORE races in Mexico for years. We always have fun at the contingency to see all the cars and bikes. We make it like a little vacation with the family and friends – Rick from Julian
4.) I retired to Mexico and live in San Felipe. I always try to get in some pre running, it is a great way to see parts of the Baja that are not on your ordinary tour map. I also help out our local race club Snarlin Cholla one way to race on a limited budget. We do not always finish but it is too much fun. My Jeep is in the shop for a few days, pre running last years 1000 and supporting the NORRA 1000 put the crunch on a couple of things. Seems that the rains and the earthquakes removed all of the tierra. They just got some rain in Baja Sur so the desert should be spectacular. Come on down!!! – Cordell Elliston
5.) I watch the race for several reason: I raced myself for years AMA SX and MX and appreciate good motorcycle competition, I also operate since years from San Diego a ATV and Motorcycle rental enterprise, LetsATV, inclusive guided tours and spend a substantial part of the year at the Baja with clients riding bikes inclusive tours going down to La Paz and Cabo San Lucas – Sven Beerviller
6.) It’s a peninsula run to La Paz this year, that should be fun! Class 22 teaming up with the Bradford Brothers – Fillebrown Mark
7.) THE Baja 1000, what else?? The racing, the thrill, the competition, the challenge, the people, the towns, the culture, the food, the roads, the scenery, the history of the race, the list goes on and on and on…. I want be able to say I participated in the Indy 500, 24 hours de Le Mans or Monte Carlo F1 Grand Prix but I can (and did several times already) at the Baja 1000. – Robert Gumacho ~ San Diego
8.) Baja 1000 is every year family vacation to Mexico. Baja 1000 point to point race is BIG family vacation. Almost could not swing it this year since money is tight. But we are hard-core fans, Husquarna and KTM hobby off-road riders and we sure deserve that beer…..
– Daniel Edson ~ Ocenbeach S.D.
9.) Visiting friends in Mulege and will combine that visit with a race course visit to become first time Baja 1000 spectator. – Ray Willard ~ Del Mar
10.) Ich komme ja nur zum Besuch und wuerde Dir dein Bier sowieso wegtrinken
Aber fuer den Spass and der Sache mach’ ich hier dann auch mal mit. man sieht sich, man hat ja Augen… – Peter Prassek ~ Regensburg / GER
11.) Visiting friends in Loreto and go to see the finish in La Paz – Joan ~ LA
12.) Going with my boyfriend spectating – Carol Sanregret ~ Julian
13.) Free beer?? Always good…. ! – Tommy Craft ~ Lakeside
14.) Got to second the the “free beer” quote! – Mark Bradford ~ Los Angeles
15.) Chasing rainbows! – Ed Mejia— Baja Challenge Class #BC-4
As of today. 12th. of November 2010 we close that “fun survey” – obviously it was a flop considering the participation versus the daily visitor count of the website (we are averaging little less as 1000 visitor per day for the last month). There is no need for a poll – EVERYBODY get’s his free beer when arriving in La Paz. We are less then 1 kilometer from the finish line located and will be there shortly after your arrival. (We communicate everybody means to inform us)
